The Killing of Cecil the Lion was the main topic of conversation on the Jimmy Kimmel Show on Tuesday night
Jimmy was clearly upset at the callous, disgusting actions of the Minnesota Dentist who ended the life of this incredible creature.
Walter Palmer and his guides hunted Cecil for 40 hours. During this time, Cecil was initially shot with a bow and arrow which partially injured him. Palmer and his guides then lured him out of the park which was his home and safe haven for 13 years then shot him with a gun after which, he was skinned and beheaded. Palmer took the head with the intention of adding it to his collection of trophies. He also attempted to destroy the GPS collar Cecil was wearing which helped the Oxford University to track and study Cecil’s movements over the years.

Palmer said in a statement on Tuesday. “I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt,” “I relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt.”
The actions of this man has angered and frustrated millions around the world but Jimmy makes a good point during his segment stating,
I think it’s important to have some good come out of this disgusting tragedy.”
He then choked back tears as he added,
“If you want to make this into a positive you can, — uh,” Kimmel said as he choked back tears. “Make a donation and support them. At the very least, maybe we can show the world that not all Americans are like this jackhole here.”
Jimmy asked that people take the time to check out the Wildlife Conservation Research Unit at Oxford University and donate to help fund further research to help animals like Cecil. This is the link www.wildcru.org
